Visited for the first time this morning to pick up 2 dozen bagels. Fresh, delicious and so many choices! Service was very friendly.

What a pleasant surprise I walked into. Following my workout yesterday. I was in search of real grits, not those Quick grits foodlion has every brand a variety of. Pulled into the Harris Teeter parking lot in Mint hill and spotted this Gem Family Dough bagels!! The New Yorker in me was drawb by the subway lettering FD. I understand we don't have the New York water that known to make the best bagels, however I was confident they had one up on phenomenal bagels, I was not disappointed. Family owned and operated. I know I can't have bagels every day, but a treat was due. These bagels were pretty on sight, and I went simple a plain buttered bagel. Pleased all my senses taste, texture, smell and even my pocket. Reasonably priced, welcoming presence. I got a poppyseed bagel for later. I will definitely be visiting again to try the sandwiches and possibly something sweet. So happy they opened in my neck of the woods. Looking to having a great local shop for years to come.

This is our bagel spot. Come here all the time. Hands down best bagel I’ve ever had in my life. It’s legit. It’s not just “good for the south” it’s actually just so good. Softest, crunchiest, best flavors, great cream cheese flavors and ratios. Just perfection.

Stopped in for a quick morning bite to eat. This place exceeded our expectations. The cheddar jalapeno bagel was something magical with just the right crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. It really was cooked to perfection. Loved seeing the other enticing things to motivate me to come back.

UPDATE 2026! — My visits have increased dramatically as I am truly a forever customer of Family Dough! The muffins, OMG! SO GOOD! I’ve had every single muffin flavor they make, and every single one was soft, moist and delicious! I crave them ;). My favorite bagel flavors are the everything, herb & garlic, blueberry and of course the holiday special ones! I have never had one bad thing there… ever!!! They are always coming out with something new and they are really such an amazing bagel shop!!!! Pricing is still just as affordable as it’s always been and I’m already looking forward to my next visit! My FAVORITEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE LOCAL BAGEL/BAKERY EVER!!!!!!!!! I don’t even know where to begin. 1. The family who owns and runs this shop is AMAZING. 2. The food is SPECTACULAR! 3. A BANG FOR YOUR BUCK! Prices are exceptional for everything they offer! Try a bagel sandwich however you like it! Get a pack of day olds! Get a muffin! Get anything and you won’t be disappointed! I will never stop going here!
